Their sense of decorum tends to go out of the window, particularly when people make a fuss of them, which I suspect would have happened. To the food and wine! We were not presented with a menu, so I am not sure if a la carte was available. Instead a large antipasta trolley was wheeled over, which contained at least ten different dishes.

We went for a small amount of each, and all were equally delicious. In the same way the antipasta was offered, we were offered red or white wine and pasta with mushrooms. We chose red as the Aosta Valley reds are better than their whites. The wine which arrived before the antipasta, as it should, was wonderful. Served in a simple carafe, lively and fruity and somewhat reminiscent of a good Valpolicella, which it wasn't, but delicious all the same.

The pasta was good, as were the fresh not dried porcini mushrooms in a butter sauce. Desert was a pannacotta caramel, which was a perfect end to the meal. Oh, the coffee was also very nice, not to Italian motorway standards, but where else is? The bill was 25 euros each including food, wine, water, Prosecco and coffee.

A bargain and a return visit required! This is not the best Italian food I have ever had, but it was welcoming, simple, and delicious. All in all a very worthwhile detour to be repeated.

Da Marino is a simple and good restaurant on the way to my mountains and I have been stopping there very often for approximately 40 years! Tagliatelle alle verdure and artichoke salad with parmesan are two of my favourite dishese. The restaurant is ok, service is friendly.

Food was good, but the price was a bit to high. Quality was ok, Spagetti were fine, meat was not as expected. Enroute North, direction Courmayer before Aosta, we randomly exited at Quincinetto and followed ristorante signs, UP a narrow, one way road.
